Proven parenchymal hemorrhage (hematoma)

Most appropriate imaging: MRI head C-/C+ (contrast preferred for evaluation for underlying enhancing mass or vascular malformation)

Alternatives:

  • MRA head C-/C+ (contrast preferred but not required; useful to evaluate for underlying vascular malformation)
  • CT head C- (useful to evaluate hemorrhage evolution and to assess for complications)
  • CTA head C+ (can obtain with CT head for evaluation for underlying vascular malformation)
