Bell’s Palsy

Patients with Bell’s palsy do not routinely need to be imaged unless symptoms are atypical, recurrent, or persist for 2-4 months.

Most appropriate imaging: MRI head C+/C-

Alternatives:

  • MRI orbits/face/neck C+/C-
  • CT maxillofacial C+ (consider if contraindications to MRI)
